Northwest Retreat

Dramatic changes emerged when ProGrass renovated this landscape. Overgrown shrubbery was removed in the front to make way for an open, inviting entrance. ProGrass built a pergola which runs from the driveway to the front porch, connected by an entryway arbor. Landscape lighting adds warmth and safety to the pathways.

The pergola frames a weeping water wall, which is located outside the dining room window. This location was chosen so it could be enjoyed from inside the house, as well as from the outside seating wall and the private seating area which is secluded nearby with a four foot stone wall.

Taking advantage of the mature Douglas fir trees in one area of the landscape, ProGrass created a weeping water wall, incorporating large indigenous boulders. Although this area is a mere 20 feet from the street, the extensive natural rock work creates a feeling of woodsy seclusion.

The sunny side of the yard was transformed into an edible garden with espalier fruit trees, raspberry and blueberry bushes. Plenty of birdfeeders and wildlife-friendly plants create a hospitable welcome for avian visitors, too. ProGrass' NaturalCare lawn and plant health care programs nourish the turf and plants with organic and natural nutrients, relieving any worries about harsh landscape products.
