How to Create a Beautiful Holiday Porch Pot

Start with a Strong Foundation

Instead of building the arrangement from scratch, begin with a wreath placed around your container like an apron. The wreath creates fullness right away and provides a sturdy base for adding decorative elements.

Add Height with Branches

Decorative branches give your arrangement structure and help draw the eye upward. Place the tallest branches toward the center or back of the container, then vary the heights to create a natural, balanced look.

Bring in Seasonal Color

Artificial berries add bright pops of holiday color while standing up well to winter weather. Tuck them throughout the branches instead of clustering them in one spot for a more realistic appearance.

Finish with Annuals

Cold-tolerant annuals soften the arrangement and add living color around the base. They help blend all of the decorative elements together and keep the container looking fresh throughout the season.

Make It Your Own

One of the best things about holiday containers is that they're easy to personalize. Mix different branch textures, add pinecones, ornaments, ribbon, or lights to match your home's style. No two arrangements need to look alike.
